A senior party leader has urged Umno president Najib Abdul Razak to replace all state Umno leaders who failed to ensure a Barisan Nasional (BN) win in the next general election.

Umno Supreme Council member Tajuddin Abdul Rahman said some state Umno leaders were still honeymooning and did not serve the people.

"This is not the way to win the general election, especially in states that have fallen to the opposition.

"I hope Najib replace state Umno chiefs who failed to deliver," he said when opening the Perlis Umno Convention 2014 in Kangar yesterday.

Tajuddin ( left ), who is also the Deputy Agriculture and Agro-Based Industries Minister, said he has voice out as Najib was too kind hearted to act against state leaders who failed.

Also present were Perlis Umno liaison chairperson and Minister in the Prime

Minister's Department Department Shahidan Kassim and his deputy and Perlis Menteri Besar Azlan Man.

Tajuddin said he raised the matter as he did not want to lose in the next general election, especially in states that have been lost.

"We do not want to lose again. What will happen to the Malays if this thing happens?

He said the Malays in Penang are being forced to leave the island state because they could not afford to buy houses because they are too expensive.

"The Malays are also weak in Selangor as seen by the return of the Malay Bibles. This is what happens when Umno loses. The voice of the Malays is no longer heard," he added.
