Action will be taken if the RM2.6 million given to eight aides of former Selangor menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim did not follow guidelines.

State secretary Mohammed Khusrin Munawi said investigations have started in relation to the payouts, reports The Star today.

“We are investigating and will take action,” he said.

Mohammed Khusrin is one of the three Menteri Besar Incorporated (MBI) board members. The other two are the menteri besar and the state financial officer.

The money was allegedly paid at the end of Khalid’s ( right ) tenure as menteri besar before incumbent Azmin Ali took over.

Among those who reportedly received compensation and severance pay were former MBI chief executive officer Faekah Husin, Khalid’s press secretary Arfa’eza Abdul Aziz and political secretary Mustapa Mohd Talib.

Azmin on Sunday said that the issue will be discussed this week at the MBI board meeting before any decision is made.

He said an audit report on the matter has been discussed by the state executive committee on Nov 12.
