Floods in Terengganu claimed the second victim, whose body was found in the river in Kampung Bukit Wan, Batu Rakit in Kuala Nerus last night.

The body of Muda Abdullah, 48, was found by his family members and villagers in the river at around 8.30pm.

The search for the disabled man was mounted soon after his sister, Esah Abdullah, 57, who is also Terengganu Communication Unit personnel, realised that he was missing, while his slippers and umbrella were found by the river.

The body was taken to the Sultanah Nur Zahirah Hospital for a post-mortem.

Terengganu police chief Jamshah Mustapa, when contacted, confirmed receiving a report on the incident.

He said the police were waiting for the post-mortem report, but did not dismiss the possibility that the victim slipped into the river while braving the floods.

The first victim of the floods in Terengganu was Norsyakirah Izzati Nazliza, 13, who drowned in a well in Kampung Jelapang Bandar Permaisuri, last Wednesday.
