The audit report over a RM2.6 million payout to the aides of former Selangor menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim will be tabled at the state assembly next week..

Menteri Besar Mohamed Azmin Ali said the report will be discussed at tomorrow's state cabinet meeting first before it is tabled.

"The process needs to be followed for the audit report to be verified by the state exco (MMKN) first before it is tabled," he told reporters today.

Azmin said this in replying to the query of Sungai Burong assemblyperson Shamsudian Lias and Kota Burung assemblyperson Yaakob Sapari.

The duo also asked the state government if it would be taking any action against the Menteri Besar Incorporated’s (MBI) and have a public hearing through Select Committee on Competency, Accountability and Transparency (SELCAT).

Azmin added that he would leave it to the assembly members to decide on it during the state assembly.

“We will not compromise in matters that do not follow guidelines and rules. We, the state government are willing to table the report in front of the state assembly so that transparency and openness becomes the basis of this government.”

Two weeks ago, Seri Andalas state assemblyperson Xavier Jayakumar asked if word that the Selangor government has instructed Menteri Besar Incorporated's (MBI) to recover the quantum from Abdul Khalid's former aides.

The quantum was allegedly swiftly paid out to Khalid's eight aides on the night of his last day in office.

Khalid, however, said that he had followed correct procedures in paying out his aides which included former MBI chief executive officer Faekah Husin and his press secretary Arfa’eza Abdul Aziz.
