Are the police waiting for Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi’s green light before investigating the reports lodged against Umno delegates Mohd Zaidi Mohd Said and Mashitah Ibrahim?

In posing this question, DAP strongman Lim Kit Siang said the duo had committed an offence in the face of the prime minister, deputy prime minister, home minister and the whole phalanx of Umno ministers and leadership.

He added that their incendiary speeches were freely available on YouTube.

"Will the PM, DPM, Zahid, (Umno vice-presidents) Hishammudin (Hussein) and Mohd Sahafie Apdal as well as all Umno ministers and leaders cooperate in police investigations as they witnessed Mohd Zaidi’s racist, extremist and  incendiary hate speech?" he asked.

Lim said that the casualties in the assembly was not only Najib's credibility following his decision to change his mind about the repeal of the Sedition Act, but also Najib's moderation campaign.

 

"One clear message from the Umno General Assembly is Najib’s total absence of political will to spearhead a campaign to marginalise extremism and promote moderation in Malaysia," Lim said.

 

He also said that the majority of Malaysians cannot be silent anymore and must not let extremists dominate opinion spaces.

 

"They must make their voices heard loud and clear and drown out the extremist and incendiary hate speeches of the Mohd Zaidis and Mashitahs in the country," he added.
