Nine areas including eight villages in Hulu Selangor experienced unscheduled water supply disruption and low pressure following the closure of the Sungai Selisek Water Treatment Plant due to the flood today.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) in a statement in Kuala Lumpur said the water supply to 731 accounts in Kampung Sungai Nilam, Kampung Sri Pagi, Kampung Lalang, Rumah Murah, Kampung Serigala, Kampung Sekolah/Bahom, teachers quarters/clinic, Kampung Masjid and Kampung Gesir Tengah was disrupted since 7am.
This was following the closure of the Sungai Selisek Water Treatment Plant from 7am due to the abrupt increase in water flow in Sungai Selisek after heavy rain yesterday evening, according to the statement.
According to Syabas, the plant would resume operation when the water level had returned to normal and repairs to damages were completed.
Consumers keen to obtain information and the latest development on the disruption could contact the Syabas Call Centre (Puspel) on the toll free line 1-800-88-5252 or via mobile application mySYABAS.
