The Terengganu state government has sent a letter of objection to the Prime Minister's Department to be conveyed to Wisma Putra to prevent a company from China, CAA Resources from involving in iron ore mining activities in Bukit Besi, Dungun.    

Terengganu Menteri Besar Ahmad Razif Abdul Rahman said the matter was forwarded to the Prime Minister's Department and Wisma Putra as it was a diplomatic issue.    

"Prior to this, Trengganu palace made a special media conference on this matter, so both are clear today," he told reporters after chairing the weekly executive committee meeting in Kuala Terengganu yesterday.   

Recently the royal advisory council of Terengganu has denied its members were involved in accepting money or other gifts to help any individuals, organisations or companies to obtain "Datukship" titles in Terengganu.    

The council said that investigations revealed that the allegation made by a businessman from China in an international newspaper recently was not true.   

The allegation which was published in the The New York Times , dated Nov 19, and Utusan Malaysia on Nov 22, among others, alleged to have paid AS$100,000 (RM344,349) to a Barisan Nasional (BN) politician to get a datukship.

In a separate development, Ahmad Razif said the state government had agreed to freeze a section of land in the Bukit Besi area to be kept as Terengganu state heritage.    

"We will keep sections that are found to have historic heritage and closely connected with the industries in Bukit Besi at one time," he said, adding that the government was in the midst of proposing that part of Bukit Besi be conserved as a historic heritage.    

"So after this, no more applications can be made, including application to obtain land, mining and so forth in the area that has been identified to be developed as Bukit Besi historical heritage city," he said.
