The Goods and Services Tax (GST) solutions are now available for the small and medium enterprises (SMEs) to be GST-compliant by April 1, 2015.

Microsoft Malaysia Small and Mid-market Solutions and Partners general manager, Azizah Ali, said the software solution applications included Microsoft Azure and Office 365 that could be easily integrated into helping the existing financial and accounting solutions for SMEs.     

"The solutions are sold at very affordable prices for SMEs, considering the value they would be getting from them. The solutions offer comprehensive system and productivity tools to assist SMEs with GST implementation that are proven worldwide in many countries," Azizah said in a statement in Kuala Lumpur today.    

She said SMEs need not worry about the software product becoming expired versions or outdated either as cloud services and solutions, for they are continually refreshed and updated.

"They will have the ability to use the solutions whenever they want. This will result in cost savings, especially for the smaller SMEs.

"From a readiness standpoint, many Malaysian businesses are preparing themselves for the GST deadline by taking part in various campaigns and workshops organised by Microsoft with its partners, including SME Corp Malaysia, the Royal Malaysian Customs Department and industry players,” Azizah said.

The solutions are made available by Microsoft and its independent software vendor partners, Sage Software Sdn Bhd, Wavelet Solutions Sdn Bhd and Rofarez Solutions Sdn Bhd.
