DAP supremo Lim Kit Siang has asked the Pakatan Rakyat leadership show responsibility to the 52 percent of the voters who had placed their hope and trust in it, and reaffirm that the coalition is intact.

 

In recent months there has been tension among the various parties in the coalition and he urged that its leaders not to leave the party in limbo.

 

He said deliberations among the top Pakatan leaders is an urgent issue after a lapse of over six months, and their first task to show the electorate that it is still intact.

 

They should also reaffirm that the Pakatan common policy framework which had brought the DAP, PKR and PAS together to form a coalition in the GE13, remains the core policy framework for Pakatan, Lim said in a statement today.

 

He also asked that the consensus principle which had been a fundamental part of the Pakatan decision-making process, be fully respected and adhered to.

 

The Gelang Patah MP added that he also agreed with the suggestion of PAS information chief Mahfuz Omar (l eft ) who called on Pakatan parties to “resume the discussions and deliberations among its top leaders”.

 

Lim also hoped that the top leaders would be able to meet before the new year and set a new direction for the coalition.

 

Earlier this week, a news portal reported Lim saying that all was not well within the coalition and the top leadership had not met in almost half a year.

 

Lim had also said that he was not certain whether the opposition coalition could survive until the 14th general election.
