The second wave of floods hit Terengganu today following heavy rain in the last 24 hours.

A Terengganu National Security Council spokesman said there were 52 flood victims from 10 families housed at three relief centres in Kemaman as at 11am today.

The relief centres are the Kampung Padang Kubu Village Security and Development Committee (JKKK) community hall (14 victims), Ladang Padang Kubu officers’ barracks (17) and Masjid Lama Kampung Padang Kubu (21).

In Setiu, the Pengkalan Merbau/ Pelong road is closed to all traffic while the Chalok/Bukit Putera road in Setiu and Kampung Lubuk/Kampung Gong Terap road in Besut are closed to light vehicles.

It is understood that evacuation of flood victims has been carried out in  Hulu Terengganu but there has been no confirmation on this yet.
