YOURSAY ‘Let them and the 25 moderates meet in debate, let the rakyat judge.’
Perkasa: Our hundreds of eminent Malays greater
Astounded:
The group of 25 eminent Malays has every right to speak up because Perkasa and Isma claim to speak on behalf of all Malays and Muslims in Malaysia - which is not true.
The eminent group is made up of Malays and Muslims too and they feel strongly that their views are not only different from those expressed by these two extremist groups, but are opposed to them as well.
Many Malays and Muslims feel the same as these eminent Malays otherwise Perkasa chief Ibrahim Ali and his cohorts would have been elected to Parliament.
With this open letter to the prime minister, Ibrahim Ali and his gang are exposed as opportunists with no real support base.
Well Thats Fantastic: If you have 100's where is their rebuttal? Where are their well-worded and properly explained arguments like what has been presented to us by the 25?
Your words are empty unless accompanied by this missing document.
Old Timer: Ibrahim, organise a live debate between your hundreds of Malays against only the 25 Malays, and let the rakyat judge who the true eminent Malays are. No point just shouting that you have hundreds.
Commentable: People are no longer surprised or even feel nauseated when Ibrahim Ali blows his own trumpet for the sake of responding to his critics. To him it's probably child's play to simply retort without any sense of shame or remorse.
He probably does not even realise that self-praise is no praise. These are the negative values that have been moulded into Ibrahim Ali and the likes of him and one which actually separates them from the truly eminent Malays who dare to speak up for the sake of a better Malaysia.
Moderation is the only way forward and more people, eminent or otherwise, should make a clear stand that bigotry, racism and extremism have no place in Malaysia.
Amah: The Perkasa president and deputy president lost in Malay majority seats even with the backing of Umno. So how can they claim to represent the Malays?
Equatorial Man: As usual, this is his childish empty talk. Just a day or two ago, he revealed to the world that he had no idea what the word "moderate" means when he declared himself a moderate.
Now we know that he also does not know the meaning of the word "eminent". To counter the call by the group of 25 eminent Malays for moderation, he can only claim that Perkasa has more "eminent" Malays, "greater" than the group of 25.
This is just like a six year old kid saying "I am greater than you" when not knowing what to say next in an argument.
Not Smart: The premier outsourced attacks on oppositions and other ethnic groups to Perkasa after GE14. Today Ibrahim is sending signals that the premier may lose his powers. Ibrahim, salutes to you for turning from frog to a warrior.
After receiving all sorts of support from Umno and getting a little momentum, you are now biting back at Umno. With Malays migrating to Perkasa, Perkasa can field candidates during GE14, thus eroding support for Umno candidates. If Perkasa is not checked now, sorry for BN-Umno.
JBond: How about publishing your membership to prove your point?
Kangkung: This blabbermouth can speak with impunity, so he definitely has the upper hand.
YUNoAnon: You say you have hundreds? Just like you say you have thousands who'd join you to go against the Bersih rally? But where were you? And where are your hundreds of eminents? Where? Eminently missing, just like your intelligence.
James_3392: To Ibrahim, eminent Malays are those who can shout louder than others. Our former ambassador to the Netherlands is a soft-spoken lady, how to be eminent?
Meh: Just ask him to produce or name his eminent persons. No need to argue. Just show the facts.
Bystander: Self-praise is no praise. The former Malaysia Ambassadress to Netherlands was spot-on that Perkasa is good for nothing except creating racial disharmony by playing the race and religion cards.
B H Yap: Perkasa's eminent empty vessels are sure numerous. They make lots of noise without substance, lots of demands without merit.
FBNUmno: The 25 are quality. Ibrahim, you only have quantity. That's the difference.
Imanust Nais Yalam: Former prime minister Mahathir is Perkasa's most eminent Malay. See where he has brought Malaysia to. Shameless political corruption. Economic mismanagement. Ringgit plunging. Education system at an all time low. High crime rate. Racial and religious conflicts. Deaths in detention. Environmental degradation.
I don't even want to hear about your "hundreds of eminent Malays". They will only bring more shame to the Malays.
Anonymous #25558299 : These 25 eminent Malays are actually speaking for all the hundreds of eminent Malays who do think wisely, but don't have the courage and the guts to speak up though they very well know that this country has gone to the dogs and will be in tatters soon.
Fellows with rusty brains like you will always find fault with genuinely educated and intelligent people. Hope the thousands and thousands of Malays will despise you and your group for being racists and religious bigots.
Tembikai: Old Timer, agree with you that Ibrahim Ali's eminent Malays should have a debate with the 25 eminent Malays. Everyone at Malaysiakini , please support the call. We will then be able to see the quality of these Ibrahim Ali's eminent Malays.
Anonymous_1371482984: Please name a few of them who became "eminent" because of their ability and not race.
RR: Ibrahim Ali of Perkasa says that there are hundreds of racist Malays in his group supporting him. But there are thousands of moderate Malaysian professionals of all races and religions such lawyers, engineers, doctors, architects, academicians, teachers, and other professions, as well as trade unions and cooperatives, who support moderation as espoused by the Top 25.
It is time all these professional bodies voice their support for moderation before the extremists and fanatics take the country to ruins with their narrow outlook on race and religion.
Bamboo: Name the hundreds. Don't pluck numbers out of thin air. Anyone with some dignity will not want to be associated with your bunch of extremists.
Joseph Lee: Be careful of people like Ibrahim Ali. Look at what happened in Cambodia under the Khmer Rouge and China during the Cultural Revolution where the uneducated masses systematically eradicated the educated.
