The meeting to find a "common ground" between PAS Youth and Wira Perkasa, the youth wing of the Malay right-wing movement, which was scheduled to take place this evening, has been cancelled.
PAS Youth secretary Abang Ahmad Kerdee Abang Masagus told the media that the meeting was cancelled due to "unavoidable reasons".
Contacted by Malaysiakini , Abang Ahmad said that the cancellation was due to the packed schedule of PAS Youth chief Suhaizan Kaiat ( right ) with several other party matters.
"Not just that with Wira Perkasa, but in fact two other meetings and appointments have been cancelled because of this," he added.
Abang Ahmad said Wira Perkasa was informed about the meeting being called off late last night.
Yesterday, Ahmad Kerdee told Malaysiakini that the meeting was a courtesy call from Wira Perkasa.
He said the meeting did not have any specific agenda other than discussing issues pertaining to Malay Muslims.
Meanwhile, Wira Perkasa assistant secretary Zahiruddin Zulkamar said he was informed of the cancellation only this morning.
He also revealed that this was the second time that the meeting between the two wings has been cancelled.
However, Zahiruddin hoped that the meeting could be held soon.
