A hot air balloon accident involving five Malaysians occurred on Wednesday at 8.15am local time in Nevsehir City, South Turkey. The Malaysians involved were sent to Versa Private Hospital for treatment. One of the victims was reported critical while the other four suffered minor injuries.

 

A total of 25 people, mainly tourists from Malaysia, China, Taiwan, Brazil and locals, were involved in the accident. The cause of the accident is still under investigation but based on early reports, two hot air balloons collided on air at Guvercinlik Valley and crashed.

 

Officers from the Malaysian Embassy in Ankara, Turkey have visited the victims and provided the necessary consular assistance.
