Plus Malaysia Berhad (Plus) has advised the public to plan their journey during the upcoming Christmas and New Year festive period according to the Travel Time Advisory (TTA) released by them.
“Plus expects the number of vehicles on the North-South Expressway to increase by 15 percent, to 1.5 million cars during the festive period, compared to the daily norm of 1.3 million,” said Plus chief operations officer Mohammad Fuad Khusairi in a statement.
The TTA provides recommended staggered travel times for various destinations from the Klang Valley to major cities as a means to disperse traffic and reduce congestion on the main routes, toll plazas and rest centres during peak hours.
“We expect the public from the Klang Valley to start travelling from Dec 19 to Jan 4, next year. So based on the TTA, we advise those who are heading toward Perlis, Kedah, Penang and Johor to enter the North-South Expressway between 6am and 11am,” he said.
Those heading toward other destinations such as Taiping, Kuala Kangsar, Gerik, Jasin, and Malacca are advised to enter the highway between 11am and 2pm.
Plus also advised the public to get the latest traffic information by contacting the toll free PlusLine at 1800 88 0000, or via its Twitter account ‘PlusTrafik’, or by downloading their application ‘Plus Mobile’ on any smartphone or tablet.
