Users of the East Coast Expressway wishing to go to Kuantan or to Kuala Lumpur are advised to postpone their trip as 500 metres of the expressway at Kilometre 126 is flooded under one metre of water.

Kumpulan AlloyMtd head of the Communications Department, Fazlyaton Hussein said the affected stretch, which had been inundated since noon, had not shown any improvement and the water level was instead rising.

"This stretch is completely impassable to all vehicles and on the instruction of the Temerloh OCPD, ACP Abdul Aziz Salleh, the stretch could not be used on safety consideration.

"The location is still experiencing a drizzle," Fazlyaton said in a statement, here tonight.
