Sabah Umno executive secretary Kadzim M Yahya has been reappointed as a senator in the Dewan Negara for a second term.

The Sabah Ports Authority chairperson took his oath before Dewan Negara president Abu Zahar Ujang at Parliament House in Kuala Lumpur.

Kadzim, 55, will serve for another three years effective today after his first term ended on Dec 22.

Kadzim, from Sandakan, has a law degree from Thames Valley University, United Kingdom and a Diploma in Public Administration from Universiti Teknologi Mara.

He has served in the public sector as a legal officer and administrative officer at the Fisheries and Fishermen’s Development Cooperative (Ko-Nelayan) as well as member of the Council of Sabah Justices of Peace.

When met by reporters later, Kadzim thanked Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak for appointing him for a second term and pledged to give his best, especially for the people of Sabah.

“I will continue to carry the voice of the people of Sabah and assist in development programmes in the state,” he added.
