Online daily website malaysiakini was inaccessible for 24 hours after the hard disks of two of its main servers were knocked out by severe overheating.

The servers were part of a stack of nine servers stationed at a data centre at Cyberjaya. To compound the problem, one of the hard disk affected was a back-up for the website.

The website came back online today at 10.10pm.

However, do please note that the subscribers' log-in function is still disabled. While the website's technical team rush to fix this problem, malaysiakini is offering its content to our readers without the need to log in.
