YOURSAY ‘And what about the floods just in front of the MIC HQ?’
MIC: Flood proves PAS 'useless', chance for BN
Ferdtan:
Though the Kelantan PAS government is not completely blameless, especially with their fixation on implementation of hudud laws instead of concentrating on finding solutions to improve the lives of Kelantanese, who are possibly the poorest in the country, the management of handling the flood crisis is not totally their fault.
They don’t have the federal government machineries like the control of police, army, emergency disaster units, with their boats, helicopters and planes at their disposal, and of course huge financial resources, that could make a big difference in the running of the flood crisis.
The PAS Kelantan government, instead of being alarmed with the whole state affected by the immediate calamity, was still fixated on the decision to go on tabling the proposed hudud resolution to be held the next few days later. It had to be called off obviously when the ulamas in PAS suddenly woke up that even their state assembly building was flooded, too.
If not for the extent of sufferings of the people of Kelantan we would love to tell the PAS government, “serves you right”. The PAS government proposes (the hudud laws), can we say God disposes ?
In conclusion, the PAS government in Kelantan has failed, and that federal government failed even more. The only winners are the Malaysians of all races and religions (yes even the non-Muslim kafir) who rose to the occasion enthusiastically, donating and raising funds for the flood victims. Malaysians see no colours and whatever religions victims may profess, only politicians do.
Lukesky: Whilst local government handling of the crisis has been somewhat lackadaisical, MIC criticism of it is a bit like the pot calling the kettle black.
MIC has not really shown credible leadership either in times of crisis or otherwise and no longer enjoys the support of the majority of Indians. So my advice to MIC is look in the mirror before critiquing others.
Dont Just Talk: Why talk so big and blowing lots of hot air too, MIC Youth chief C Sivaraajh. The Indian population in Kelantan is negligible and it is immaterial whether they vote or not. Now that you have made yourself known, go and collect the crumbs that fall from Umno Baru’s table. By the way, have you been nominated as a senator? If not, it is time for MIC to demand for one.
Mushiro: Taking advantage of the flood situation is the MIC’s, Umno’s and BN’s cheap mentality. It was obvious when Najib Abdul Razak's picture and those of other Umno leaders were printed on the rice bags, causing a delay in delivery to flood victims. The way Najib and other Umno leaders posed during the flood and were shown on TV were just tactics to play to the gallery.
If the flood proved PAS is “useless”, does the Lahad Datu intrusion prove that Umno was sleeping and does the landslide in Cameron Highlands prove that MIC is dead?
Spirit of Malaya: Agreed that PAS is useless and we the rakyat know that and this fact was proven beyond doubt when the PAS menteri besar said he can't get out of his home to help the rakyat during the floods.
On the other hand, BN is also useless during major crisis despite being in federal power for more than 50 years - they had the money to improve infrastructure over the years but failed to perform due to complacency of being in power! In a nutshell, it was the ordinary rakyat that rose to the occasion during this massive floods.
While the BN politicians were busy printing their pictures on the rice sacks, the ordinary rakyat were busy helping the victims. The actual hero this time was the ordinary rakyat - kudos to you!
Doc: This most be one of the instances I have to agree with MIC. Despite BN' s poor showing with this flood disaster management, PAS’ response is pretty much non-existent in helping their own people. Sadly the Kelantan people are faced with either BN's poor response or PAS' non-response.
Lim Chong Leong: PAS may be useless to stave off a major flood but at least they are not like BN who capitalise on the floods and put their faces on government aid like it is their grandfather's money that provided the aid. PAS may have been useless but we don't hate them. BN, however, are despicable for capitalising on the misfortunes of others.
MIC must have misunderstood when the Meteorological Department blamed the full moon for the high tide that caused the floods. Anyway, Sivaraajh talks as if there were no floods during BN rule or even when PAS was in BN. These MIC and BN people should really just disappear rather than flaunt their stupidity.
Angel: The floods occurs because logging occurred. Logging occurred because the BN government including MIC refused to give the petroleum royalty directly to the Kelantan government.
Since nobody wants to fight for the Kelantan Malays including Perkasa, Mahathir Mohamad, Pekida, Isma and the Malay MPs, why don't the Indians led by MIC fighting for our brother Malays in Kelantan?
Lionheart: MIC, MIC, what have you done to assist? You surely have a mouth that can talk and a finger that can point. Focus your energy, time and resources to uplift the rakyat, especially Indians. The big injustice of not looking after the Indians was and still is your biggest mistake.
Waktamnoko: I really agree with MIC this time. PAS was just useless in that they failed to wrest control all the agencies under the federal government. They could have done a better job if the army, police and all the other relevant federal Agencies were placed under their control in the state.
Actually the failure in Kelantan was the federal government's and not the state's. Now it’s no wonder that most of the Indians rejected the MIC the last election. They have nothing to show now, but only their stupidity to exhibit to the people.
Sleepy: Firstly, this not whether BN or PAS will regain political control. Secondly, MIC has again proved how shallow they are. Thirdly, if you want better management and less politics, the loser is actually BN considering they are the federal government and the amount of resources they have available.
DontPlayGod: The PAS government is more interested in implementing hudud. The flood also gave an opportunity to put the blame on those who oppose hudud. So PAS’ action is to blame those who oppose as the reason for the flood.
In other words, this is God's wrath. So PAS is above blame.
Lies, Lies & More Lies: And what about the floods just in front of the MIC HQ in Jalan Ipoh, KL last week? How idiotic.
