Gov’t jet - a case technical or personal issues?

YOURSAY ‘What could be more important than sending the PM back?’

'Gov't jet didn't stay in US for Najib's family'

Gerard Lourdesamy: It is time that the chief secretary to the government after consultation with the cabinet and the Treasury, announce stringent guidelines as to who and when the government jets can be used and for what purposes.

The taxpayers are getting fed up with the abuses, the excuses and cover-ups. Revolutions have taken place for far less reasons.

What?: So who was the jet for then? What or who could have been more important than sending Premier Najib Abdul Razak back to handle the flood crisis? What else is a private jet for?

Wg321: If 9M-NAA was not used by Najib’s family, it is even more irresponsible to fly an empty plane from Hawaii to Los Angeles, Indianapolis (to and fro), then New York, London, Dubai and Bangkok (grounded in Bangkok for three days) and then back to KLIA.

Did the plane run on water? The empty plane should have flown direct back to KLIA using the shortest route i.e. via Hong Kong.

Why no one in the PMO dared to make an official statement? Is newsman A Kadir Jasin the official spokesman for the PMO?

Equatorial Man: ‘Technical issues’ - a convenient excuse commonly used to explain everything. What were these technical issues?

About the time when Najib was supposed to have flown out of Hawaii to return to Malaysia, the plane was tracked to have landed in Indianapolis.

Could a plane with technical issues fly from Hawaii to Indianapolis? Maybe this is why they have to add, "Also, they were not in Indianapolis."

Do the people choose to believe that statement from Prime Minister’s Office (PMO) or flight tracker portal FlightRadar24?

Nobrain: Why the plane had to fly to Los Angeles, New York, London, Dubai and Bangkok? If there were technical issues it should fly home immediately. It looks more like personal issues than technical issues.

Cantabrigian: Somehow, somewhere, someone is secretly wishing that somebody had switched off the transponder on that plane so millions of Malaysians could not track in real time the journey of this mysterious round-the-world rendezvous.

Haizir Rahman: If this jet disappeared from radar, of course many people would blame the government. But when this jet is on radar, a lot of speculation arises. The opposition is trying to take advantage of the situation. The people must not be fooled.

100% Truly Malaysian:  So, it took the PMO more than eight days to reply on the "missing" 9M-NAA. As expected, a lame excuse is given.

But why on earth did it fly across the globe with so many stops in US, UK, Middle East and Bangkok?

Will the PMO be issuing another statement that it was a test flight for the plane after its repairs?

LifeFlier: PMO, enough of stories in coffee shops about 9M-NAA. Now we want to hear from you the true story.

Please elaborate what kind of technical issues that you need the government jet to fly all the way to Indianapolis to get it fixed. Why not get it done in Los Angeles or Honolulu?

Can you show proof from the parties who were involved in handling its technical issues?

Pputeh: It took too long for PMO to answer. Must have taken days to prepare this 'story'.

Are we the rakyat not important enough to be given the answer earlier? Only Kadir Jasin's questions are answered. But he has only one vote and we have many.

Ckl0001: What we want to know is who used this government VIP jet to travel round the world and for what purpose, since this had incurred a large amount of public funds.

Odin: My dear sir/madam, of course the jet did not stay in US for Najib's family. All these people have simply been jumping to conclusion or making wild accusations just to discredit Beloved Leader and his family. You must excuse them.

Until your disclosure, they were unaware that the jet was believed by the crew to have had technical issues; that to confirm whether it did indeed have such problems, they must fly it to Indianapolis, where it was checked and the existence of the problems confirmed and rectified; that a test flight must be carried out to ensure the rectification had been executed properly; that the test flight necessitated a round-the-world trip.

They were, and still are, also unaware that Beloved Leader's family, being conscious of the need to be careful with public funds, hired a self-paddled Hawaiian dugout to continue their journey to the mainland, and once there travelled on the Greyhound Line whenever possible and took commercial flights - taking Cattle Class, naturally - when possible.

As we insiders know, they returned to Malaysia also on commercial flights and sitting in Cattle Class. And being the humble, simple people they are, they did not want hordes of servile serfs to come to the KLIA to play kompangs and roll out red carpet for them, and so they have kept their arrival private and quiet like.

Malaysia Ku: After such a long time, now the PMO trying to do damage control? Why didn't it clarify when the news was hot over so many days? And why go through a third party to issue denials?

Why can't the PMO release the statement to the media? But of course, if issued through a third party, there’s the opportunity to use that favourite word - "misquoted".

And Najib, why not sue all the commenters who raised this issue?

Rupert16: At least half the truth is out - Najib's family indeed travelled to Hawaii on vacation at taxpayers' expense. Now let's wait for the other half to be unveiled. The full truth will prevail eventually.

Raja Chulan: Just produce the passengers’ manifest. No need to spin or give half-truths by using press statements.
