Forget Mat Rempit, tell us about your global trip

YOURSAY ‘We are more interested in your holidays. Don’t sidetrack this issue...’

Rosmah: Hubby and I lose sleep due to Mat Rempit

Multi Racial: PM Najib Razak’s wife Rosmah Mansor said: "My home in Kuala Lumpur is by the road side and in the middle of the night we can hear motorcycles going very fast. It goes on for very long so people must be racing in the middle of the road...

“We really must do something because Najib and I cannot sleep because of the noise. It's fine if it is in the afternoon but this is at 2am.”

Is Rosmah saying illegal racing is okay if it is in the afternoon?

Ratbatblue: Instead of coming forth with concrete ideas to stem the Mat Rempit problem, is this all that she can muster?

No, the Mat Rempit are not bad, they are just a wasted section of Malaysian society, rotting, decaying and of no use to anyone, not even themselves. A total waste of youthful and useful resources, and with criminal elements thrown in too.

If the police do find time to arrest them, they should be charged for attempted homicide, since they are a potential danger to others.

MatrixLYN: I cannot understand. As prime minister of Malaysia, surely Najib can call our police chief and get these Mat Rempit arrested on the spot.

If he can't get rid of a few Mat Rempit, how is he expected to take control and manage our country?

2Kali5: Here’s a very simple solution. Just give a call to Mat Rempit chief KJ (Khairy Jamaluddin) and tell him to get them to race elsewhere other than near our beloved PM's residence.

Anonymous_1391693662: Yes, leave the Mat Rempit problem to Mat Khairy. Tell us about your family holiday, and why you were using the official jet for your personal use?

That's more of our concern now. If you care so much for the Mat Rempit and our youth, you should have done solved the problem a long time ago.

Louis: Whose fault is this? It’s Najib's fault. As PM, he could have used his office to find ways of channeling the Mat Rempit’s interest to something more useful. Instead, he spends more time travelling.

Rosmah, we are more interested in your holidays. Do not sidetrack the issue that is hounding you and your family - holidaying in the US while our country is inundated with raging water.

Whatshappenning: This Mat Rempit issue has been there for years. I remember when some of the Mat Rempit were giving problems to ordinary citizens and when complaints were made, no action was taken.

Later Mat Rempit grew bigger and bigger until they disturb the VVIPs and it became an issue. But the issue now is these VVIPs complain and yet at the same time spoilt them by giving in to them.

What these Mat Rempit do is actually violating traffic laws and but the VVIPs spoilt them by using rakyat's money to fund programmes for them.

Karolinas: Rosmah has good intention. She tries to convey some advice to our young generations, especially those who are Mat Rempit.

Such activities are not only dangerous to the rider's life and other road users, but also disturbing public order.

Haizir Rahman: This is not about Rosmah. It's about the youngsters.

As adult, we should pay attention to our kids on the kind of activities they're doing outside, especially at night. Sometimes, how our kids grow depends on how we treat them from their childhood.

Odysseus: Mat Rempit is the creation of BN education system. You need to go after the education minister and not complain to us. We can't help you.

We already have enough problems created by BN government. Cost of living is sky rocketing. Prices for car and house are beyond reach for the working class.

And you want to complain about Mat Rempit disturbing your sleep? Give us a break. We are dying here.

Well Thats Fantastic: The IGP (inspector general of police) will have his boys out in full force now that FLOM (First Lady of Malaysia) has spoken. I am certain it will be a peaceful night tonight at least.

Vijay Shanmugam: Really? I am too losing sleep due to 1MDB (1Malaysia Development Berhad) financial fiasco and how it's going to affect our already weakening ringgit..

Vijay47: Alas, I fear we may not have our Dear Prime Minister around very long. First, the stress his heart and possibly other portions of his body suffered when he was recently compelled to part from his loving family.

Then those dreadful e-coli bacteria or viruses or whatever, no doubt agents of the cunning Chinese and Jews, singled him out and went to roost in that same body he owns.

Now we learn from his anguished wife that even the Mat Rempit, the bastion of Umno Youth, have joined in the plot by causing the poor royal couple sleepless nights.
