Five workers were injured after the roof of a main entrance door of a building that is still under construction in the KK Times Square vicinity in Kota Kinabalu collapsed at about 11.10am today.

Kota Kinabalu district police chief ACP M Chandra said they were identified as Abdul Yusof Sadisin Jan, 24, Taslim Lilin, 26, Fitri Munir, 18, Abdul Basir Haruddin, 17, and Hervin Mursalin, 18.

He said Abdul Yusof, Taslim, Fitri and Abd Basir were sent to the Hospital Queen Elizaberth 1 while Hervin was sent to Hospital Queen Elizabeth 2.

The incident occurred while the workers were conducting installation work on the roof which collapsed.
