As the clock ticks down towards the Federal Court's decision on Sodomy II, the accused Anwar Ibrahim has embarked on a nationwide road show.

And this has raised the ire of Perkasa president Ibrahim Ali.

"What is so special about Anwar? To him, he cannot be touched or prosecuted. Otherwise, it is (described as a) conspiracy," he said in a statement today.

"Anwar is just an ordinary human being. How do we fortify the rule of law if there are humans like Anwar?" he asked.

Ibrahim also accused the opposition leader of always preaching the propaganda that everyone apart from him are cruel.

Therefore, he implored Malaysians not to be influenced with Anwar’s campaign under the banner " Rakyat Hakim Negara (People are the nation’s judge)".

"If anything untoward happens, the people will be the victims. Everyone wants Malaysia and her people to be safe," he said.

Et tu, Brute?

As for the opposition leader's supporters, Ibrahim advised them to pay heed to the words of Brutus - "not that I love Caesar less but I love Rome more."

"Anwar's supporters must love Malaysia and respect the laws of the land. Support and sympathy for him should be in an appropriate manner," he added.

Ibrahim also described the ongoing road show as unhealthy and insulting the courts.

"This is a legal and not political matter, Anwar and his allies who are taking part (in the campaign) and delivering speeches are in contempt of court," he said.

Next Tuesday, the Federal Court would decide if Anwar is to be incarcerated or remain a free man.
