YOURSAY ‘Umno knows that without Anwar Ibrahim , Pakatan will self-destruct.’

Request for sentencing submissions 'bad omen'

Kangkung: We don't need any 'bad omen' to tell us which way the verdict is going to go. This is the last chance for Umno to destroy its nemesis once for all. Umno knows without Anwar, Pakatan will self- destruct so it is killing two nemeses with one stone.

Whatsup: Foregone conclusion. Tell us which government machinery has not been hijacked to do the master's bidding regardless if it's just or not, especially on one who'd won 53 percent of the votes and would be the premier, as in any other country, except here.

No thanks to the treasonous organisation. Well, there'll be many more Anwars - could they all be jailed to stop the demand for change - for good and responsible governance, and an end to mega-corruption and abuse - is it so wrong?

Kathleen Ong: Various financial mismanagement scandals raging and burning, from cows, to steel, to cars, to forex, to highways, to tuna farming, to timber deals...outright looting going on. And this country and the judiciary is trying to figure out if something personal between two consenting adults did happen.

And even if it did happen, then the right "maximum punishment" is a national priority? What the...no wonder Singapore is miles ahead.

Meh: Let's pray and hope the judges have good consciences. Otherwise a great injustice will follow.

Lim Chong Leong: They will adjourn the decision because the Federal Court still has some ‘wayang’ left to do. At this moment, Umno and Najib will not benefit by a decision either way, and it is best to just let the dark cloud hang and hover over Anwar's head.

SSDhaliwal: The verdict was already out the day Saiful met Najib.

J. D. Lovrenciear: It’s not the outcome that’s more important. The very fact that Malaysia has to be embroiled in such a case has already desecrated the nation's fabric of honor.

Whoever saw it in his or her wisdom to plough Anwar through charge after charge on sodomy, parading before the entire world to let see our sense of direction and political interests, has done the nation and its people a historical betrayal.

Peacemaker: Don’t expect too much judicial opinion. It will be a verdict driven by a political compass. The judges know this as much as all Malaysians.

Fair Play: Should Anwar be found guilty, the wrath of the right-thinking rakyat would know no bounds and manifest itself in GE14. This not a prophetic statement, but an objective analysis of the inevitable - that change is the only constant.

Anonymous_1396929433: Don't read too much in it, this is the judiciary’s way to keep Malaysia in suspense. They already have a bad reputation, there’s now suspense, but tomorrow he will be acquitted. There will be a chorus that our judiciary is the best in the world.

Bumiputhran: A request for pre-sentence mitigation submission, contrary to convention, means only one thing and that is a foregone conclusion - it is an affirmation of the conviction. Wanderer's outrage is shared by all Malaysians.

Why has the Malaysian police and the attorney gone out of their way to shield/protect others who have also perpetuated the murder. Rise Malaysians in the face of injustice. Demand justice and accountability.

Axolotl: If Anwar is imprisoned it would be a clear sign that all hell has broken loose in a failed state called ‘Kangkungland’ where liars, cheaters, thieves, rapists and cold-blooded murderers misrule the roost.

If Anwar Ibrahim goes to jail, it would be like all decent Malaysians have been placed under house arrest - leaving congenital felons to guard what little is left of the national treasure.

RR: In today's world, homosexuality is happening in abundance everywhere. But in Malaysia it is Anwar who is the only sodomist. If this is not a connived political vengeance, then what is?

The government even hires a private prosecutor for this purpose as if the public prosecutor is deficient in law. The Federal Court should be cognisant of this fact too and acquit Anwar.

Lone_Star: Que sera sera.....whatever the outcome tomorrow, life goes on. The rakyat must change; the rakyat must be the change. Let there be justice for Anwar and Malaysia.

HOPE: The writing is on the wall. Get ready, Anwar.
