I'm praying hard for this country. If we only have leaders who are really love the country and the people... who will rule and administer with integrity, honesty, principles, justice and courage. Malaysia would be in a much better position.

P. Dev Anand Pillai: It is a pity that we Malaysians never seem to learn, we have the power to vote, but we misuse it. We fall for the traps laid by the scheming and conniving and after getting up to our feet again, we again fall into these traps.

Something is seriously wrong and after 58 years in power, the great empire is slowly crumbling. They are now coming from office to office to check on us to see if they can get us to pay more taxes. So not paying staff is just the beginning.

Gunnerrun: What is happening, man? Bernama TV can't pay salaries, RTM can't pay temporary wages, 1MDB can't pay its loans on time.

I see a pattern of the worst-ever scenario unfolding soon. Oh and the goods and services tax (GST) is coming. No worries, lah. All can kao tim (settle), and all will be forgiven and forgotten.

Siang Malam: This is embarrassing - this is what happens when you employ managers who are cronies and based on nepotism, not based on meritocracy.

Fair&Just: What comes around goes around. Bernama is not known for reporting the truth but what this dastardly regime wants it to report and such company breeds ill-will and bad tidings.

'PM's urging for rakyat to play golf is ridiculous'

Gunnerrun: Oh my God, the membership queue at Kuala Lumpur Golf and Country Club (KLGCC) in Bukit Kiara  is a few years long, and if I am not wrong, priced at half a million ringgit per person!

Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak is really a PM who is nowhere but out of touch with the people. People kais pagi makan pagi, hardly making ends meet, trying to breathe in and out, holding on to sordid jobs with bosses bullying on and on, just trying to make a decent living to feed the family, and voila, here comes golf as the solution.

CQ MUAR PM: Najib always has his priorities grossly misdirected or misplaced. Just when the nation starts to wonder over the prospect of the next meal, here our PM is advocating a game beyond the reach of ordinary citizens - one which is meant for the elite and those corrupt ministers!

Did Najib actually get up the wrong side of his bed or what, I wonder? Or, could this be his ploy suggesting to the people this idea to distract them from the current woes faced by the rakyat?

To be a little blunt, is he out of touch with the economic situation the nation is undergoing, or plainly out of his mind? Please enlighten me.

Anonymous #19098644: It goes to show how out of touch Najib and Umno are with Malaysians. If even 10 percent or three million Malaysians were to decide to take up golf, the trees in the entire country would need to be felled to build gold courses.

Instead of building schools, hospitals, universities and roads, the country would be wasting its resources on building and maintaining non-productive golf courses.

When people can't even afford low cost houses, the PM is asking them to spend money on golf sets, paying green fees, wasting time instead of earning a decent living for their families.

He is behaving exactly like Marie Antoinette did 225 years ago, before the start of the French Revolution. It is time to remove this incompetent, out-of-touch politician.

Kingfisher: Yes. Give them cake if no bread is available. This would seem a fair characterisation of Najib's remarks, considering the plight of Malaysians under his premiership.

He seems rather whimsical, especially considering his notoriety for his exuberance in spending public funds for his "official" overseas trips . Perhaps he is clueless regarding the hardship of many hardworking Malaysians and this may not be his fault.

Ex-PJ: Out of touch with reality. Maybe Malaysians should buy Birkin handbags, too!
