Almost all consumers in the areas affected by water supply disruptions in Petaling, Hulu Langat, Kuala Langat and Sepang since Sunday began to receive their supply in stages beginning early yesterday morning.
Syarikat Bekalan Air Selangor (Syabas) said in a statement yesterday that water supply had resumed as the Sungai Semenyih Water Treatment Plant (LRA) had again raised their treated water production to the normal level since 3am yesterday.
“The water supply resumption status is 100 percent in Sepang and Kuala Langat, while in Hulu Langat it is 97.3 percent and in Petaling it is 31 percent,” according to Syabas.
The company also provided emergency water supply through tanker lorries and static water tanks to ease the burden of the consumers.
The unscheduled water supply disruption involved 378 areas beginning on Sunday following the reduction in the production of treated water by the Sungai Semenyih LRA due to a high content of ammonia and manganese.
