'Sedition Act dragnet politically-motivated?'
An opposition member of parliament today questioned whether the recent police operation targetting opposition lawmakers was aimed at getting them disqualified as MPs.
Beruas MP Ngeh Koo Ham said he was worried to note that there could be a grand design behind the recent spate of police action to either call in or arrest opposition figures under the Sedition Act.
"With all these frivolous charges against us, and after being found guilty by the courts, we cannot contest in the next general election. Is there a plan? I'm asking the IGP (Khalid Abu Bakar) to answer," said Ngeh.
