Two youths were charged in the Magistrate’s Court in Ipoh today with the murder of a policeman’s wife at her home on Feb 11.
Unemployed A Nagarujun, 19, and a 17-year-old car wash employee were charged with the murder of Izaah Abdullah, 52, between 12.30am and 2am in Taman Tanjung Emas, Ulu Kinta.
When the charge was read out in Tamil by the court interpreter before Magistrate Nurul Asyifa Redzuan, the youths nodded to indicate they understood the charge. However, no plea was recorded from them.
DPP Geetha Jora Singh requested the court to fix another date for mention of the case as the report of the post-mortem on Izaah was not ready.
Nurul Asyifa set April 22 for mention. She did not allow bail.
After the proceedings, a woman, believed to be a family member, was seen crying and hugging the 17-year-old youth, who also cried.
The youth was represented by counsel Naran Singh while Nagarujun did not have a lawyer.
Four youths had been remanded from Feb 12 to yesterday to assist in investigations into the case.
