Star Publications (Malaysia) Bhd is proposing to change its name to Star Media Group Bhd.

In a filing to Bursa Malaysia, the publication company said the proposed name change was approved and reserved by the Companies Commission of Malaysia (CCM).

The proposal is subject to the approval of shareholders at the forthcoming annual general meeting.

If approved, the name change would take effect from the date of issuance of the certificate of incorporation by the CCM, it said.
