The Selangor government today denied that a 36 hours water cut will be implemented throughout the state as spread via WhatsApp.

Infrastructure and Public Utilities,  Agriculture Modernisation and    

Agro-Based Industry Committee chairman, Zaidy Abdul Talib said the false information was spread to cause panic among users.

"The information spread via WhatsApp is not true. The state government calls on users not to speculate and spread false information."

The false information read: "Attention to all. Store enough water (tonight) as water supply will be cut for 36 hours throughout Selangor. It has been been announced by Sinar Radio."
