Two policemen and a lawyer pleaded not guilty in the Sessions Court here on charges of accepting bribes to release five Chinese women from immigration offences on Jan 19.

Corporal Muhammad Haikal Kelvin Anderias, 30, is alleged to have given a RM3,000 bribe to another police corporal to release Chinese national Ren Zhi Rong at 3.30pm at Klang Court Complex.

Lawyer B Rajvinder Singh,28, is alleged to have given a RM6,000 bribe to Corporal Kasmi Kamary as inducement to release four Chinese women at 2.30 pm at Klang Court Complex.

Corporal Kasmi, 53, is alleged to have accepted a RM6,000 bribe from Rajvinder Singh at the same time and place.

All of them were charged under Section 17(a)(b) of Prevention of Corruption Act 2009.

Judge Noradidah Ahmad set bail at RM4,000, RM8,000 and RM6,000 in one surety each for all the three accused and March 23 for case mention.

Deputy Public Prosecutor Nazrul Nizam Mohd Zameri prosecuted. Counsel BS Ananthan appeared for the first and second accused while counsel Aminuddin Mohd Ramli appeared for the third accused.
