Deputy Finance Minister Ahmad Maslan said this is ensure that Malaysia achieve developed nation status with high income by 2020.
"This is to counter claims by certain quarters that the GST is not based on Islamic teachings," he said at a GST briefing at SMK Tok Bachok today.
Ahmad referred to the 108th meeting of the National Fatwa Committee on Oct 21-22, 2014 which decided the implementation of the GST is encouraged ( harus).
