The urban well-being, housing and local government minister said this in a tweet in response to several DAP elected reps shaving their heads in solidarity with the incarcerated opposition leader outside Parliament this morning.

“DAP leaders shaved their heads for Anwar.

“But wait! Was it not DAP who first exposed allegation against Anwar? @WhiteHouse won't be fooled!” he tweeted.

However, he did not specify the allegations purportedly made by DAP.

The reference to White House was in relation to the online petition initiated for Anwar, which called on the US government to negotiate with its Malaysian counterpart to free the opposition leader.

However, the petition by former US ambassador to Malaysia John Malott was removed from the White House website citing "a violation of their terms of participants."

The petition saw a dramatic jump in signatures over the past 24 hours.

According to the website, "The user who submitted the petition will be notified and have the opportunity to request reconsideration of the determination."

Outside the parliament gates this morning, some 20 people, including Pakatan Rakyat lawmakers, went bald.

While the majority were PKR MPs and state reps, there was one MP each from DAP and PAS.

Anwar is serving a five-year prison sentence after the Federal Court upheld his sodomy conviction.
