Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said the names of Peninsular Malaysians barred from entering Sabah and Sarawak come under the Official Secrets Act (OSA) and thus cannot be disclosed.

Teresa Kok (DAP -Seputeh) ( left ) had asked the home minister to list the names of those who were barred from entering those states.

In his written reply to her today, he added the list changed from time to time following the orders of the authorities there, and are also monitored under the OSA.

Kok  also queried if those states had received orders from the ministry to deny certain individuals entry.

However Zahid said this was not the case.

“The Home Ministry did not give any orders to the Sabah and Sarawak Immigration department to bar any Malaysian or foreigner from entering the states.

“The state authorities under Section 65 of the Immigration Act 1959/63, made the decisions themselves,” he asserted.

Kok, with PKR vice-presidents Rafizi Ramli and Tian Chua, were Pakatan MPs barred from entering Sarawak last year.
