KINIBIZ Former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad’s blog, inaccessible since afternoon today, was taken down due to unusually high traffic, said a source.

Mahathir’s blog, addressed at www.chedet.cc , earlier ran an article critical of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and became inaccessible afterwards as visitors were greeted with a message saying the account had been suspended.

This sparked speculation whether the article led to the website being inaccessible.

A source with knowledge of the matter told KiniBiz that the website had to be suspended to prevent a server crash as it was seeing unusually high traffic, although it is unclear whether the website was subjected to a distributed denial of service (DDOS) attack or any other effort to deny access to the blog.
