Zahid: I have letters that can shame ex-ministers

Idon'tlikekangkung: Home Minister Ahmad Zahid Hamidi, the problem with saying that you have letters but that you do not want to implicate others is that you have already done so.

 

This is thuggery - a more ‘gentlemanly’ (if such a term could possibly be used for thuggery) and sophisticated form of thuggery - but that it still what it is.

 

A police state run by thugs - now that's an interesting combination.

 

Ferdtan: This is like when a boy is caught with his pants down. He then yelled, “Mom, this is nothing, my brothers did worse things than me.”

 

This is exactly how Zahid is behaving. Instead of apologising or admitting his fault, he ungentlemanly turned around to the focus attention on his fellow ministers, present and past.

 

Is this the type of leader we have in the government? Is it the Umno thing; that is never accept responsibility for their mistakes/acts? And as always, blame others for their fault?

 

This case is even stranger as he is implicating his Umno colleagues.

 

Wpa: Zahid, when you choose to stay inside the bubble of denial, you must remain inside.

 

Inside it, you will not hear the voices outside clearly. So stay inside and hope it is just a nightmare. Because if you come out, it will really be a nightmare.

 

Clongviews: Next, Zahid will say that the letters and agreements signed by his predecessors cannot be revealed because of the Official Secrets Act (OSA). So the matter is closed.

 

Gerard Lourdesamy: Why not declassify all the letters and documents so that the public can form their own views unless national security is involved?

 

Alternatively, form a bipartisan parliamentary select committee on security and intelligence and make the disclosure there on confidential terms.

 

Given that alleged underground kingpin Paul Phua's cover has now been blown wide open in various countries, what possible value can he still have to us an intelligence asset or operative? 

           

Fair Play: So Zahid’s modus operandi is this, “if I go down, I will take everyone with me”.

 

And that's pretty sum up the quality of our political leaders in driving the nation forward (or is it backward). But the most distasteful aspect is his low moral fibre.

 

Doc: Is Zahid trying to say that all ministers are crooks like him and he has evidence to prove it?

 

Anonymous$&@?: Zahid has just admitted that the whole bunch of Umno minister are corrupted and will sell the country without even batting an eyelid.

 

Apa Ini?: Maybe Zahid will be next to go on a roadshow, exposing past and present ministers and the letters they wrote. Heaven help us; we've got school kids running the government.

 

The question is not whether you wrote the letter to the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) vouching for Phua, but why. What for?

 

The man is a crook and wanted by more than one country and you write that Malaysia supports and needs him.

 

Mushiro: Put simply, Zahid believes that it is not wrong to commit a blunder as long as similar blunders have been committed by minsters.

 

Behsaikong: We don't doubt that, in your own words, your "predecessors had also done the same".

 

But that has been our complaint! Umno ministers (since all home ministers are from the same party) have behaved this way.

 

The fact that you have behaved like previous Umno home ministers does not make it right when you do it. Stick to the point: Is this the right thing to do as a home minister?

 

Odin: Zahid, maybe you do have proof that your predecessors have also written letters to foreign parties to seek for the release of Malaysian criminals and vouching for the good character of the criminals involved, but the point is that many wrongs do not make a right.

 

Of course, the notion is too complicated for you to grasp.

 

Commentable: By saying "I have letters that can shame ex-ministers", Zahid is in fact threatening his fellow Umno comrades, the ones who were his predecessors, by holding them to ransom.

 

Indeed it is telling that all is not well inside that snake hole. When loud hissing that promises spitting of venom to anyone within striking distance who is deemed a danger, there bound to be casualties.

 

It looks like Zahid is a cornered creature who is prepared to drag everyone down along with him if he has no choice, even if it means collateral damage to his own party and to the country.

 

Oh by the way, aren't those letters and agreements you are threatening exposure covered under the OSA?   

 

Napoleon: If the rest of the cabinet members and Umno continue their support for our home minister, they are telling the whole world that they are in bed with Phua.

 

What happened to Perkasa? It’s time for it to come out to defend the home minister, if not they will not get their next month’s funding.

 

Perhaps Ibrahim Ali will argue defending a Chinese gambling kingpin is also protecting the rights of the Malay as well.

 

Tommy: Isn't Zahid the same person who had said he will reveal the culprits behind Lahad Datu invasion after GE13? We are still waiting.
