PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu was tight-lipped today over the rising heat regarding candidates for the party leadership polls.

“I don’t want to comment on the issue of party president. I reserve my comments. No comment on anything else.

"All will be resolved soon,” he added briefly after officiating the Shah Alam muktamar this morning.

Mohamad Sabu has been silent on calls from several quarters within the party not to challenge the presidency of incumbent Abdul Hadi Awang at the leadership polls.

He was similarly reluctant to comment when asked the same question yesterday in Kota Bharu yesterday after a ceramah for the Chempaka by-election.

Meanwhile PAS’ Shah Alam MP Khalid Samad said calls for Hadi not to be challenged only reflects badly on the party president and will backfire on Hadi.

Khalid said statements like the one made by Kelantan Menteri Besar Ahmad Yaakob makes it seem that Hadi does not have the backing of members.
