'Do we want to bow to those outside Parliament?'

Gen2indian: Here we go again. (Veteran Umno leader) Tengku Razaleigh Hamzah, obviously some things are on your mind and troubling you.

 

It’s no use making an occasional general statement, the purpose of which is unclear. Make a stand, Tengku, and state very clearly what’s wrong with the country.

 

You will earn more respect for speaking your mind instead of hiding behind some vague statements from time to time.

 

Vijay47: Ku Li, to show that you are truly committed to protecting Parliament from "outside forces", resign from Umno, which is the master of these outside forces.

 

Just_A_Rakyat: I must disagree with you, Vijay47, it's not about which side of the fence Razaleigh is at.

 

The call do the right thing by the MPs regardless of their affiliation, are so overwhelming. Ultimately all of them will be judged by history for their actions or inaction.

 

Flyingeagle: Yes, Razaleigh, go straight to the point. Is Parliament supreme or that outside authority(ies) are more supreme?

 

Get your sympathetic MPs to resign and join Pakatan to form the new government without further delay.

 

Legit: I agree with Flyingeagle. The time has come for someone like Razaleigh to make the move and bring back sanity to this country.

 

You can be a person who can work across the divide and bring together reasonable people to run this country even if this is a stop-gap measure.

 

The rakyat will be behind you, Tengku. This country needs a change. Please do something.

 

Ace: Tengku, don't beat around the bush. Will you move a motion to condemn the arrest of Nurul Izzah Anwar despite her having uttered the so-called objectionable comments inside Parliament, and also those who stormed the Penang state assembly? Enough of rhetoric.

 

Supercession: Razeleigh, could you please use more direct, stronger language at a time when Malaysia is sinking fast, thanks to you-know-who?

Indirect speech is going to get you nowhere with the crude, semi-literate, under-educated looters, thugs and racists masquerading as MPs from your beloved BN.

 

The Analyser: It's already too late to talk about conscience. Umno has created an environment that is beyond repair.

 

Can you imagine how insane an individual or a party would have to be to attempt to take away Malay privileges, sack the whole judiciary, demolish the police hierarchy, break the stranglehold that religion has on this society, rein in rampant profiteering, blatant waste, incompetence and corruption? And then turn around and build a true democracy and reinstate all human rights?

 

Can any of you say that you have the vaguest idea of how the opposition would rectify the present chaos? You can’t, because they haven't a clue either.

 

They don't even know where to start, largely because their Malay-centric thinking is frighteningly like Umno's thinking... or rather lack of thinking.

 

Have you seen anything about a 50-day plan, 100 days, one year, two, five-year plans? You haven't, because they don't have any.

 

They aren't sufficiently organised or responsible as to have a shadow ministry of 'experts'. With any luck, they will never get into power and you should be forever grateful for that.

 

The fact that so many supported such a chaotic rabble solely on the basis of "the charisma" of one man is testimony of how truly unintelligent Malaysians are.

 

Behsaikong: Even Razaleigh himself never goes the distance, never has the courage to act on what he says. Only the loyal opposition braves censure, speaks out and faces the threats and the police lock-up and go to the street if necessary.

 

Please don't talk as though both sides of the parliamentary divide are doing the same thing or on the same page. It is because the other side is not at all on the same page that we the people have no hope at all in Parliament.

 

See how parliamentary sessions are being conducted. Same as outside Parliament - only the opposition MPs have done any wrong and are suspended or subjected to the strong arms of the law.

 

If Tengku is sincerely concerned, then Tengku should speak up about the disparity that the loyal opposition has been subjected to inside as well as outside Parliament.

 

Anon1: Constitutional and legal arguments are wasted on megalomaniacs. Remember the RM1,500 fine for trespassing into the Penang state assembly?

 

Now we have the police arresting MPs for words uttered in Parliament. Another world's first, I believe.

 

These megalomaniacs dictate how everything is to be handled and the brainless and heartless sociopaths carry out their bidding.

 

But they'll thump their chests and declare that they are guided by religion just to get the common fools heading in the opposite direction.

 

Mushiro: Ku Li is talking in riddles and he expects his Umno colleagues to understand and follow his advice.

 

For Umno MPs, it is all money talk - nothing is based on conscience or public interest. As usual, Ku Li has offered good advice but to the wrong audience.
