Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak may receive some unexpected guests at his daughter's wedding reception on March 28.
In a YouTube video , activist Hishamudin Rais had urged the public to gatecrash Nooryana Najwa's wedding bash at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC).
"March 28 is our party, from Sogo to KLCC. On that day we would celebrate (Nooryana Najwa's) wedding.
"I 'menghasut' (incite) you ladies and gentlemen, come down to Sogo on the 28, and together we would bring down Najib and (his wife) Rosmah Mansor," he told the crowd at a candlelight vigil last week.
Nooryana tied the knot with Daniyar Kessikbayev of Kazakhstan in a ceremony at Seri Perdana yesterday.
Contacted today, Hishamudin claimed that he was just joking.
"That was just a joke invitation.. I'm not going because I was not invited. If I was I would go," he said.
However, Kita Lawan committee member Fariz Musa told Malaysiakini that the movement is considering a demonstration on the 28.
"We are still discussing about (a rally) on the 28, if there is a decision we would make an official announcement," he said.
Quizzed if the protesters would gatecrash Nooryana's wedding reception, Fariz remained coy, saying: "For now, we haven't decided where to march."
The Kita Lawan movement seeks to force Najib's resignation, and for jailed opposition leader Anwar Ibrahim to be freed.
At least 11 politicians and activists have been arrested since the movement's first major rally on March 7.
