Private member’s bill may not be tabled so soon
The private member’s bill to enable the implementation of hudud law or the Syariah Criminal Code II 1993 (Amendment 2015) in Kelantan may not be tabled in the current session of parliament.
The private member’s bill to enable the implementation of hudud law or the Syariah Criminal Code II 1993 (Amendment 2015) in Kelantan may not be tabled in the current session of parliament.
Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Nancy Shukri said this was because the government has to table several bills in the current parliament session from March 9 to April 9.
“The speaker (Pandikar Amin Mulia) has received the private member’s bill on hudud but it is uncertain whether it will be tabled this time as the government has many bills to table including the bill to combat the IS militant group,” she said when opening the Sarawak Government Retirees Association annual general meeting in Kuching today.
On March 18, Menteri Besar Ahmad Yakob tabled the Syariah Criminal Code II 1993 (Amendment 2015) to enable the implementation of hudud law in Kelantan.
The hudud bill was unanimously passed one day later.
