False to think non-Muslims agree with PAS

YOURSAY ‘On what basis did the K’tan deputy MB arrive at that conclusion?’

Amar: Non-Muslims not against hudud, just DAP

Anak Malaysia: It's a joke to think that non-Muslims support hudud. An overwhelming majority of us absolutely do not. We have as much right to discuss and raise our objections.

It would be naive for non-Muslims to think we can live isolated from hudud in the long run. Wake up; this step is the first of a systematic progression towards Islamic laws at federal level.

Before long, the absurdity of a dual criminal system will push for calls for uniformity through hudud's implementation for all. Our forefathers all agreed on a secular constitution. The introduction of an Islamic justice system is a betrayal of our constitution.

Mah Kau Fan: This chap is deluded. His belief that non-Muslims are not against hudud is misplaced. On what basis did he make that statement?

Selsub: Deputy Kelantan Menteri Besar Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah - you need to explain why PAS agreed to have local elections in the GE13 Pakatan manifesto but not agreeing to it now? Also, why PAS did not include hudud in the GE13 election campaign?

PAS need to be truthful and don’t be a flip-flop just to achieve its political goals that will not benefit Malaysians as overall.

Anonymous_1422083147: As a Muslim I have no option to choose between God's law and human law. Those who question hudud should know it has a significant impact on their faith which they need to answer in front of Allah.

Naatamai: Hudud seem to address only adultery, alcohol consumption, gambling and such which are personal between the individual and Him. It doesn't address corruption and oppression.

Since it’s the politicians who're defending hudud, I guess they shouldn't address these as they will be guilty of them.

4Malaysia: Not only are many Muslims and non-Muslims against hudud, the federal constitution is also against hudud. And they didn't even think through carefully first.

Last year, they didn't even think about who could execute the amputations. When asked, they said doctors - but doctors won't do it. Just days ago, Amar backtracked his earlier comments about punishments for unnatural sex. He doesn't even know what he's talking about.

Kalvin Rekhraj: PKR, MCA, Gerakan and MIC are a few parties he forgot to mention. But since he has asked, I too am against the hudud that PAS has put forward, because it only covers sex, booze and apostates. There is no mention on corruption, money laundering or racism.

That shows that it is acceptable to accept bribes in millions and get away but if one were to get caught stealing a thousand he or she gets his or her hand amputated. Where is the logic in that?

Any law is meant for the greater good and peace of a nation. However this kind of a proposal seems selective. PAS will have my vote on hudud if it can cover all angles of the current law.

Keturunan Malaysia: Deputy Kelantan Menteri Besar Mohd Amar Nik Abdullah, stop dreaming please. It is not hudud that we non-Muslims are afraid of, it is just that people like you cannot be trusted to keep it and confine it to the willing Muslims only, and not to shove it down our throats.

Malayamuda: Non-Muslims have no right to speak about hudud because they don't know about Islam. Muslims have no right to talk about hudud because they know Islam. That's the logic we are being fed.

Pemerhati: In the Malaysiakini report on March 20, Latheefa Koya of PKR made a scathing attack on PAS when she said, "The so-called hudud of PAS as made public in the Syariah Criminal Code amendments is certainly not found in the Quran. Therefore, it ought to be rejected outright. It is their own creation, and it is creating confusion and mischief in God's name."

She also stated the Quran does not prescribe punishment for apostasy nor makes any mention of stoning, and that the Quran also differed with PAS' enactment on two other counts - stipulation for amputation, and the witness requirements in rape and adultery (zina) cases.

This means PAS is enacting a cruel, medieval and barbaric law and curbing any dissent from the Malays by frightening them by saying that it is God’s law.

The fact that hardly any Malays and Muslims have come out to openly criticise PAS for its barbaric hudud law suggests that PAS has successfully frightened and silenced the Malays by falsely claiming that hudud is God’s law.

The Real Duke: I am Malaysian Chinese and also MCA member and I am strongly against hudud.

Eagle: Sarawak and Sabah is against hudud. Many Umno, DAP, Pakatan, MIC, MCA, and even PAS members are against hudud. Many Malaysians are against hudud. Only a few top PAS leaders, with a hidden agenda, want hudud.

You want to think that just because you know the religion you are the only ones who can interpret and rule over others? This is pure wishful thinking.

HERO325: This is the problem created by DAP when they assured and persuaded the Chinese and other ‘nons’ to vote for PAS. Out of fanatical support and trust for DAP, many Chinese youth were seen carrying PAS flags and beaming with cheers. These Chinese youth trusted Lim Guan Eng and Lim Kit Siang too fanatically.

Little Mouse: Amar, I am not a politician. I am a not a Muslim. I am very much against hudud for Muslims or non-Muslims. Please concentrate on uplifting the people of Kelantan economically and socially.

It is shameful after so many years under PAS, it is still so poor. Please get your priorities right. Even a recent survey tells you people of Kelantan want you to prioritise their problems caused by the recent flood rather than implement hudud. Get it?

Bamboo: Amar, we non-Muslims are not a herd who would be led blindly. We are more cultured, we don't form a mob and protest about hudud on the streets. You just wait for PAS to lose Kelantan and many seats elsewhere in Malaysia to know the true sentiments of people.

Thana55: Amar, Kelantan is the least developed state and it’s time you give some hard thought on why this is so.

Nes: How do Muslims protest against implementation of hudud even if they wanted to? Just look at BFM business radio station presenter Aisyah Tajuddin . What more about non-Muslims?

Anonymous_1424070527: Forget about convincing non-Muslims. Even Muslims cannot agree on hudud implementation. So PAS, as a political party, has no right to decide on matters pertaining to the faith of Muslims. The same goes for Umno.

Anonymous_4031c: Both PKR and DAP are the voice of the people's conscience. And that's what an opposition should do in a democracy along with the NGOs in the country. As part of Pakatan, PAS used to be a part of that voice but sadly no more today.

Come election most of the rakyat will not vote PAS as they have seen its true colours and leadership capabilities.

Anonymous_1371477558: Never ever vote a party whose main interest is to serve God instead of the rakyat, as if God needs the party's service.

Anonymous_1426562854: I am non-Muslim and have no political background, and I am against implementation of hudud law.

OH YA?: If he is so confident that only the DAP is against hudud, why doesn't he have a referendum on the issue instead of bulldozing it by legislative means?

If a referendum is held, he may be surprised not only the DAP but the majority of Malaysians, Muslims or non-Muslims, would object to it. Only people like him who are bankrupt of ideas would press on with this stupid cause.

Anonymous #85427712: You had our vote in 2013. Come 2018, you are gone.
