The federal government has tabled a supplementary bill seeking a RM 2.2 billion addition to the 2014 federal budget, their second supplementary bill for this budget.

 The Finance Ministry tabled the supplementary bill in Parliament today.


 &nbsp;


 The amount requested is in addition to a RM4.1 billion additional budget the government had sought through a first supplementary bill for the 2014 budget in June last year.


 &nbsp;


 Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak initially announced a RM264 billion allocation for Budget 2014 in October 2013.


 &nbsp;


 The bill keeps up with the regular norm of the government tabling at least two supplementary budgets after the tabling of every federal budget.


 &nbsp;


 Of the RM 2.2 billion allocation, RM 1.2 billion addition is sought for the Treasury, followed by RM428 million for the Education Ministry, and RM287 million for the Public Services Department (PSD).

This is the second time it is tabling a supplementary bill after last June.
