News portal Malaysiakini "slandered" BN secretary-general Tengku Adnan Mansor by quoting him as saying that "PAS hudud is political hudud", said an Umno Youth leader.

Federal Territories Umno Youth chief Mohd Razlan Muhammad Rafii ( left ) said the portal "twisted" Tengku Adnan's words to "provoke" Muslims and cause disunity.

" Malaysiakini continues with its main agenda to disrupt Muslim unity. Before, it was the Friday sermon issue and now the proposal to implement the hudud is used as fodder.

"This time, the portal's editor slandered Tengku Adnan through (the Bahasa Malaysia) article 'Ku Nan: Hudud PAS 'hudud politiklah'," he said in a statement.

He also urged Muslim readers to exercise care and double check reports on the Internet against other sources to ensure veracity.  

"It is even better if readers can boycott this portal so we would not be involved in Jewish slander," he said.

Tengku Adnan was yesterday asked on BN's stand on the hudud which is part of Kelantan's Syariah Criminal Code II 1993 (Amendment 2015) passed by the state assembly last week.

Although the federal territories minister said Muslims cannot oppose Allah's law, he said the the hudud bill must adhere to the federal constitution.

Pressed further, he said: "PAS hudud is political hudud lah okay?"

Tengku Adnan: No, no, as far as we are concerned, hudud mesti ikut perlembagaan negara Malaysia (must follow the federal constitution). Okay?

So what is the stand?

You wait for the prime minister, my president, my chairman of Barisan Nasional to give the statement, I think by tomorrow or the day after tomorrow.

The 13 component parties, according to Sin Chew Daily , have signed a joint statement against the hudud bill. Is this true?

No, no. We said hudud must follow the perlembagaan negara (federal constitution).

So how can I say this? Is it against or...

I am not saying against. Hukum tetap hukum. As a Muslim, hukum Allah tetap hukum (Allah's law is law).  

Of course.

The one who is playing this is DAP and PKR. They are trying to stir things. They thought they can break BN but BN leadership is different because we believe in consensus. In every decision we have a consensus decision.

That is the reason why we have a mesyuarat khas that day with all the component heads to get their views. Our view is simple. Kita akan ikut perlembagaan, apa yang ada dalam perlembagaan (We will follow whatever is stated in the federal constitution).

So the PAS hudud bill...
