Police are investigating DAP mouthpiece Roketkini under the Sedition Act for an article critical of the force.

Bukit Aman's Classified Crimes Unit (D5) today called in Klang MP Charles Santiago to give a witness statement to facilitate investigations.

"They ( Roketkini ) quoted me in their article, so (I have been called) as a potential witness against the editor of Roketkini ," Charles told reporters after giving his statement at Bukit Aman.

The portal had on Tuesday published an article with the headline ' Demo anti-GST: Sampai bila Polis nak jadi 'pak turut' UMNO ' (Anti-GST demo: Until when will police be Umno's lackeys).

The article was based on a statement by Charles ( right ) in which he slammed the police crackdown against anti-GST protesters at the Kelana Jaya Customs Department office on Monday.

Besides investigating Roketkini 's editor, Charles said it is likely that he too will be probed as well.

"They (police) might actually call me in the next two, three days to investigate against me as well, but they have not confirmed it," he said.

Charles was accompanied today by lawyer Ramkarpal Singh and DAP national publicity secretary Tony Pua.

He was questioned by police for one hour, on 15 questions regarding the article.

He described the probe against Roketkini as a crackdown against dissent.

"This is an attack on dissent, the free flow of ideas, and freedom of expression.

"In this country, we used to have something called democracy which allowed the media to report...so we will push and we will fight until this country upholds democracy," Charles said.
