PKR vice-president Tian Chua has promised that Kita Lawan protesters will not disrupt Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak and Rosmah Mansor’s daughter’s wedding reception.

In a series of tweets on the issue, he referred to Rosmah as "FLOM", the acronym for "First Lady of Malaysia".

Tian urged inspector-general of police Khalid Abu Bakar to exercise self-restraint when dealing with protesters tomorrow and not to attract bad press.

"World press reports on havoc caused by brutal and barbaric crackdown will surely spoil FLOM's fiesta," he said in a tweet, which also tagged Khalid’s Twitter account.

Tian also accused the police chief, who has warned that protesters would be arrested, to be under Rosmah’s control.

"IGP under the thumb of FLOM? Let's see how @KBAB51 (Khalid’s twitter handle) mobilizes PDRM to protect the gala dinner and rather let his force be demoralised/exhausted.

"IGP need not be paranoid: Kita Lawan has no interest to spoil the million-dollar gala wedding, our rally has always been peaceful.

"FLOM needs not worry: Kita Lawan rally won't disrupt her (daugther's) wedding dinner. Instead we will show Malaysian opposition are peaceful and civilized," read his tweets.

'Hedonistic'

However, the PKR leader said Kita Lawan promises to mock Rosmah’s "decadent hedonism", the PM’s jet issue and the 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) scandal.

"We promise to shout ' Undur Najib ' (Najib must resign), ' Pecat IGP ' (sack IGP) and ' Bebas Anwar ' (Free Anwar Ibrahim),” he added.

The wedding reception for VIPs would be held at the Kuala Lumpur Convention Centre (KLCC) at 8pm.

The protesters intend to march from the Sogo shopping mall to KLCC. Kita Lawan has said this is not to gatecrash the wedding but to celebrate it.

DAP, however, has refused to participate, admitting that it does not want to disrupt the ceremony.
