The man who criticised DAP secretary-general Lim Guan Eng in a press conference in Alor Setar on Saturday is not Kedah DAP chief as reported by national newswire Bernama, DAP said.

DAP organising secretary Anthony Loke said Tan Yen Chai, who slammed Lim for cutting ties with PAS president Abdul Hadi Awang, was never appointed state chairperson.

"All who claim to be part of Kedah DAP committee under Tan are not legitimate at all.

"The DAP central executive committee never acknowledged this group.

"The Kedah DAP chairperson is Tan Kok Yew, who is also the Derga assemblyperson,” he said in a statement.

"We urge the media not to report any of Tan’s or his group’s personal views as the views of Kedah DAP."
