Now all convicts can take the oath like Najib
YOURSAY ‘They can all take the oath. But does it mean we can let them go?’
BN MPs want Najib to stand up to Mahathir
Responsible Malaysian: BN Backbenchers Council president Shahrir Abdul Samad said: "As Muslims, we saw Najib sincerely take the oath. This is why we have no doubts about his position in the case.”
Hence, any Muslim suspect who is willing to take the oath will have no doubt that he will be freed from punishment for any crime.
Zar: Shahrir, why don’t we call everyone who is now in prison and ask them to take a religious oath (sumpah laknat) like Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.
They can all take the oath. But does it mean we can let them go?
Keturunan Malaysia: We do not need courts, judges, prosecutors, lawyers, law enforcement officers and our jails will be virtually empty if all it takes to get off scot-free is to swear to tell the whole truth and nothing but the whole truth.
NX: Nobody is pointing fingers at the prime minister. What everybody wants to know are answers to the questions posed by the late private investigator P Balasubramaniam's lawyer Americk Sidhu and why the immigration records on Altantuya Shaariibuu went missing.
Why is Umno hopping mad when this has nothing to do with the PM? Unless they, too, believe the obvious.
Louis: Ask Najib to speak up for himself? Just wait for a blue moon rising.
Najib's defence is so porous that it is almost defenceless. All this while he has been depending on his men to issue explanation on allegations against him.
At best, he would rubbish the allegations just like what he did when Altantuya Shaariibuu murder convict Sirul Azhar Umar threatened to tell all.
Now that Mahathir is leading the charge, he can no longer hide behind his men.
JD Lovrenciear: It is not about answering Mahathir. It is about what the rakyat has been asking - at least the 51 percent of voting public.
And now with the Auditor-General's Report out, do you still say you are very happy and supportive of all things government?
Then the failures and mismanagement exposed must also be lumped on you MPs who pledged support to Najib to do a good job, no?
StopMonkeying: It’s checkmate for Najib. If he speaks on Altantunya, Sirul will speak. If he speaks on 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB), the banks will speak.
If he speaks on the jet, his own staff will speak. If he speaks on Good and Services Tax (GST), the voters will speak.
Pekasamsedap: Too many of you ‘private investigators’ here are commenting without actually following the Altantuya case from start to end.
The police did their duties according to the law. This case went on for eight years. Without new evidence, police cannot open a new probe.
Anyone can come forward with new evidence but to this second, Sirul is still mulling whether to reveal who instructed the hit. That is the problem.
Forgotten Hero: People are asking the wrong person. Azilah Hadri, who was also convicted of the murder, was Sirul's superior. Sirul does not need higher authority to act.
If there were really higher-ups who ask them to murder Altantuya, Azilah is the person to be question.
If the PM is so awfully powerful, that he controls the IGP, the police, investigators, judges and the entire judicial process, so much so that he could prosecute anyone he likes, even the likes of PKR de facto leader Anwar Ibrahim, and if truly he is guilty in murdering Altantuya, then how and why the heck did he even allow Altantuya’s remains to be found and court proceedings to take place until to the extent that it implicates him?
Think about it. What is his motive to let Altantuya's case to surface when he has the ability to make people vanish in this country?
Abasir: Najib knows how to create a mess - Altantuya and Scorpene as defence minister, 1MDB as finance minister, smart schools as education minister. What he does not know is how to answer for them.
Legit: Hello, BNBBC guys, don't you ever forget that you are there to represent the people who elected you and not just apple polish your boss.
You all have been an utter failure. This country is heading south and will very soon hit rock bottom and implode.
In the meantime, people are suffering with the high cost of living, high crime, low wages, and a bleak future due to the lavish lifestyle of your boss and his wife. You guys have been so well-greased by Najib that you will not question him.
Mahathir highlighted that foreign news media has branded Malaysia as the most corrupt country. We have a thug for an IGP who is only famous for threatening people. The judiciary has become a mockery of the whole world. All institutions of the government have been wrecked.
It's about time you guys wake up from your intoxication and do something good for the country.
What? MeWorry?: Shahrir was the last of the presumably credible Umno reps. They are now extinct.
