Perhaps former menteri besar Abdul Khalid Ibrahim can cease sitting around tweeting, and instead attend Selangor state assembly sittings.

Selangor Menteri Besar Azmin Ali said this in response to assemblyperson Sulaiman Razak (BN-Permatang) who had questioned "injustice" against Khalid by PKR.

Azmin's snipe during the state assembly sitting comes after Khalid fired salvos at Azmin over his administration of the state.

Sulaiman spoke about "injustice" against Khalid while debating a motion to condemn the jailing of Selangor economic adviser, Anwar Ibrahim.

The motion, tabled by Dr Xavier Jayakumar (PKR-Sri Andalas), was to denounce the prosecution, deemed to be political in nature, against Anwar, who is also Opposition Leader.

Debating the motion, Azmin said that Anwar’s persecution was unjust and asked for the judicial process to be carried out in a transparent manner.

At this, Sulaiman interjected and asked for Azmin’s (left) explanation on action taken against Khalid which he believes was unjust.

"If you talk about justice, Pelabuhan Klang (Khalid) never received it. He was sacked (from PKR)," said Sulaiman.

Khalid was sacked for allegedly not keeping the party in the loop on important policy decisions. He resigned as MB soon after and was replaced by Azmin.

Azmin, however, retorted back, asking Sulaiman to bring Khalid to the state assembly sittings and for Khalid to stop tweeting.

"This motion is about Anwar Ibrahim, not Khalid Ibrahim. Pelabuhan Klang, too, needs to obtain justice.

"For him, we can conduct a forum, but on the condition that he comes to the House. If he is here, I can face him.

"Anyway, he (Khalid) is Permatang Pauh’s friend, so bring him over. Don’t just tweet,” said Azmin.

Anwar was Permatang Pauh MP until the Dewan Rakyat speaker Pandikar Amin Mulia declared the seat vacant, following the palace’s dismissal of the pardon application by Anwar’s family.

Anwar was convicted of sodomy on Feb 10 and is serving a five-year jail sentence for sodomy.

Besides the motion to denounce Anwar’s jailing, the assembly passed a motion by Mat Nazeri Mat Dahlan (BN-Batang Kali).

Mat Nazeri motion was for the state government to continue discussions on the water restructuring agreement with the federal government.

However, Sulaiman’s motion for the state government to give full cooperation to the federal government to continue with the Kinrara-Damansara Expressway (Kidex) project was rejected.

The state cancelled approval for the Kidex, citing non-compliance to pre-requisites.

Although Kidex is a federal government project, Selangor cooperation is crucial as the state has jurisdiction over the use of land.
