Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin wants all parties not to put pressure on Kedah Menteri Besar Mukhriz Mahathir, who has yet to state his stand on the leadership of Prime Minister Najib Abdul Razak.

Khairy ( left ) said Mukhriz is an experienced politician and understands his responsibility to the nation.

“I believe Mukhriz will make his stand in the near future. Give him time and I think Mukhriz is someone who is experienced, he understands, and does not need to be pressured, give him time to make a stand,” he told reporters in Putrajaya today.

Mukhriz, who is also Kedah UMNO liaison committee chairperson, has said he would issue an official statement regarding Kedah Umno’s stand on Najib’s leadership on April 24 in Kuala Lumpur, after having a meeting with all Kedah Umno leaders.

The meeting will discuss Kedah Umno’s official stand on its support for Najib following a string of attacks by former prime minister Dr Mahathir Mohamad, who is also Muhkriz’s father.
