After defending 1MDB, Umno now attacking Low

YOURSAY ‘The fault lies with the board of 1MDB and no one else.’

Low: They blamed it on the boozing Chinaman

Aries46: 1Malaysia Development Berhad (1MDB) is a Finance Ministry venture under the purview of the finance minister who also doubles up as the chairperson of its advisory board.

So former PM Dr Mahathir Mohamad was spot on in directing his queries on 1MDB borrowings at Najib Razak, the PM who also juggles all the above and others issues raised.

Jho Low, on the other hand, though associated with Terengganu Investment Authority (TIA) previously did not hold any position in 1MDB or the government. So why is he dragged into the 1MDB fiasco and accused of this and that?

Whatever his role and/or his crime, on what legal basis does he become accountable to the Umno-BN government?

Loh's response to Euromoney not only mocks the spinners in Umno but also questions the competency and integrity of the decision-makers who are responsible for the failed investments.

This is not a matter for Jho Low or any scapegoat but the Finance Ministry and the man at the helm who has yet to provide straight answers and neither has his TV3 interview, which seemed to have stirred the hornet’s nest more than anything.

Mushiro: Jho Low, please don’t use words such as, "The Chinaman stole the money and blew it on alcohol and Paris Hilton".

The allegedly missing money is colossal and much more than your spending on booze. What many are saying was that you were the frontman for Rosmah Mansor and husband Najib Razak.

MinahBulat: Jho Low has posed a very sensible question. Why don’t Umno Youth chief Khairy Jamaluddin follow his advice and find out who the board of directors and shareholders of 1MDB are?

If this Chinaman alone can ‘kow tim’ (take care) the whole of 1MDB board, then he must be a brilliant financial genius or the Umno people heading 1MDB are a bunch of morons and idiots.

Low's mistake, if any, is he did not get the whole board of 1MDB to party with Paris Hilton. They are jealous that this fat Chinaman can have such fun. Eat your heart out Umno.

Prince_Malaya: Jho Low, if you have the guts, you should come back to Malaysia and cooperate with Public Accounts Committee (PAC).

Grey Matter: Why must Jho Low defend himself and return to Malaysia to give a statement. If he needs to, PAC can go to him. If he comes here, Umno will make him the scapegoat and put the entire blame on him.

Why didn't KJ and his apple polishing Umno Youth leaders ask the authorities to probe Najib instead since he is the chairperson of 1MDB advisory board? Jho Low does not have a fiduciary duty - both legal and moral - towards 1MDB, so stop the rhetoric against him.

Just because he is Chinese, everyone is trying to pin the blame on him. The fault lies squarely on the board and management of 1MDB and no one else.

Jho Low is a smart guy who never took an official position in 1MDB, so please get off his back and go for the real thieves.

Lim Chong Leong: No, Jho Low, show me how you made the money. What is the nature of your business? There must be a core business, right?

Bill Gates, Mark Zuckerman, Vincent Tan, Francis Yeoh, everyone has a core business that is not shrouded in secrecy. Everyone declares taxes and makes known their sources of income.

So, what about you? No one is accusing you of Chinaman this or that. Just that you stole the money.

Slumdog: According to the Sarawak Report , Jho Low's company, Good Star Limited, was paid US$700 million by an 1MDB associated company. Can he explain what it was for?

Haveagreatday: KJ, the truth hurts, doesn't it? But it's a fact, you folks have perfected spinning the truth to an art form that very few in the world can aspire to.

Sabahan: People are curious on how this fat Chinese boy made so much money that he blew a substantial sum on show-off parties and activities that disgust the ordinary man.

When the 1MDB scandals are exposed, the picture became clearer. Some of the money came from 1MDB.

The secret emails provided further proof that this fat boy had a controlling hand in all the immoral activities of 1MDB. Mere denial and claims of being an expert on Middle East business are all hogwash.

Headhunter: Let's face it, if you were in Jho Low’s position wouldn't you do the same and milk till the last drop?

After all, it was unlimited supply of money that was practically untraceable and parked in an offshore account and you are doing dirty work for the big man whom you are confident will cover you as your big brother if anyone starts to ask questions.

It's another perfect scam, or so they thought.

Fair Play: I suppose in any scam of a colossal magnitude, behind every mastermind, there is yet another mastermind.
