A wet and watery Burmese New Year in Bukit Bintang

COMMENT On Monday and Tuesday last week, there was a celebration among some Myanmar workers on Jalan Alor. That was Thingyan (often pronounced as ‘Thanjan’), or the Burmese New Year or Water Festival, which happens every year in April. It is a very important celebration in Myanmar, where it goes on for days on end.
